I'm thinkin about picking this game up or getting a cdkey if available. But i was wondering how the MP scene is? Is it active? How many players are usually playing? Is it worth it to get the game?

the singleplayer is whats worth getting, just download it.

the online multiplayer has a small crap community and does not do the singleplayer justice like cod4 does

Ya I've played and beatin SP about 3 times already. It's good fun. I was gonna get a key for the MP but I guess its not worth it.
