For all you lovers of the Quake 3 game. Here is Quake Live for you. :rockon:
Summary:
Quake Live (formerly known as Quake Zero) is a first-person shooter video game project from id Software announced in 2007. It is said that it is very much focusing on the multiplayer aspect of the game, so as to nudge the game into succeeding its predecessor Quake III Arena as a "major league" FPS eSports competition game.
It will be released as a free version of Quake III Arena launched via a web browser.
Quake Live will be backed financially by in-game advertising from IGA Worldwide. Skill-based matchmaking will be powered by a "metagame engine" developed by GaimTheory.
Quake live has now gone into beta testing. The quake live website has a email signup for beta testers wishing to play.
The trailer did claim to sport 30 maps but it has yet to be confirmed whether or not many modifications will be available to play using Quake Live.
