When you want to process a payment, you have to pay with Paypal or with your Credit Card via 2Checkout.

2Checkout has a fraud department to allow a payment or reject it. So now, you will get your product only if the fraud department allowed your payment.

I just tested this type of payment and I am unable to pay with my paypal.
I get prompted with a message that asks me to add a CC to my paypal.
However, I get enough income from coding projects myself & various other services which are irrelevant,
so I have more than enough funds to do my purchases. It does say that, if my funds exceed the ammount to be payed,
nothing will get charged on the CC, but I have no CC and have no intention of getting one for my paypal (security reasons & others).

Is there a solution to this problem, other than adding a CC to my paypal?

hm no normally you don't need to add a credit card to your paypal account. Normally when you buy with paypal, you can choose your payment option. Something like "Charge with paypal balance" or "Charge for the credit card".

That is exactly what I would expect.
However, this option wasn't prompted and there was no way to proceed without adding a CC.

nop it isnt a scam i paid my subscription with this just click on checkout with paypal and pay after you logged in your paypal they will send u back to 2checkout site where u have to enter your REAL details ;)

Worked for me, just finished upgrading my sub :D

EDIT/ I have saved my credit cart on paypal; I wait for the confirmation (2-3days!).
