It has to decrease the frame rate, since it records with a certain fps rate.

Btw dont record your game play while playing. Make a demo and record it later

and change the FPS in fraps to 60.

If your PC still doesn't like recording with fraps, at a high fps, then this is the way I do it.

I have a pretty bad system, so

1. I record a demo
2. I exit the game and run fraps
3. I watch the demo I just recorded
4. I have set fraps' recording fps to 30
5. I record my games in slow motion, a timescale of 0.25
6. I load up video editing software. I personally like sony vegas
7. I import the video fraps has saved for me
8. I speed the video up by 4x, giving me a timescale of 1 and an fps of 120 on the final product :)

I currently only do this with cod4, but Im sure it will work with any other game that allows you to change the timescale, or something to that effect :)

PS: This WILL take up a bit more disk space
