How to change your COD 5 name

1. Go to your profile folder and back it up just incase something goes wrong (C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\pla yers\profiles)

2. Load up COD5 and create a new profile with the name you want

3. Close COD5 and go back to your profile folder

4. You need to copy over 3-4 files to the new profile folder. You need the config.cfg, config_mp.cfg, mpdata and the saves folder if you have single player saves

5. Open the config.cfg file in notepad so that you can edit it.

6. Go to aprox line 326 and it will read set name "********". Change the name to your new one (make it exactly the same with capitals and spaces)

7. Save this and load up cod 5 and delete you old profile if you want.

8. Enjoy playing with your new name.

Just checked CoD5 profile out. I can create a new profile and switch names without any complicated steps using the same CD-Key.

I noticed that the hacked version did have some kind of profile weirdness. I bought the original game. Perhaps those things are related in some way.

1.) Suche deinen CallofDuty5 Profile Ordner, das sollte der hier sein: (C:\Benutzer\NAME\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\ players\profiles)
Dann speichere den Ordner irgendwo, also kopiere in irgendwo hin, falls was schief laufen sollte, haste so deine Sicherheit.

2.) Lade CoD5 und lege dir ein neues Profil an, das was du halt willst

3.) Fahre das Spiel wieder runter, also beende es und gehe zurück in deinen Profileordner

4.) Es sollte ein neues Profil angelegt sein, dahinein kopierst du die Dateien config.cfg, config_mp.cfg, mpdata vom alten Spielerprofil, solltes du im Singleplayer ebenfalls Spielstände haben dann kopiere auch den Save Ordner mit hinein

5.) Öffne die Config.cfg Datei mit Windows Notepad, damit kannst du sie bearbeiten. Damit ist die Config.cfg im neuen Profilordner gemeint, da du sie so erst vom alten Profil ins neue übertragen hast und nun eben auf das neue anpassen musst.

6.) Gehe zur AproxLine 326 und du wirst da "set name und den alten Profilnamen" lesen können. Ändere den alten Profilnamen um auf deinen neuen und achte dabei auf die Korrekte Schreibweise

7.) Speicher das Ganze und dann kannst du CoD5 neustarten und du hast den neuen Profilnamen mit den alten Spielständen usw.

8.) Viel Spass damit!
