G92 will be released in November 2007 timeframe in the form of "GeForce 9800" series.

NVIDIA is also going to launch their next generation PCI Express 2.0 SLI chipsets for both Intel and AMD processors together with the next generation enthusiast GPUs known as G92 in November. There are C73 and C72 chipsets for Intel supporting 45nm Yorkfield and Wolfdale processors and MCP72 for AMD supporting AM2+ Phenom processors. The main difference between C73 and C72 is the support of higher FSB and memory type where C73 supports 1600FSB and DD**-1600 and C72 supports 1333FSB and DDR2-1066/800.

There are 2 variants to each series of SLI chipset; XE and P where XE supports 3 x16 SLI priced at US$150+ and P supports 2 x8 SLI priced at US$100-120. Only MCP72 series can support Hybrid SLI. C72 early samples will be available to customers by end of July where mass production slated for October. MCP72 early samples will be available by August with MP targeted for November. C73 will arrive later where early samples targeted for November and mass production in December. So we can expect MCP72 and C72 to be on target for launch together with G92 in November.

Imagine ti 9800 gtx in sli lol. That would be pure SEX!!!

I think with one gtx and a powerfull cpu you could get 60FPS on crysis in ultra.

A few weeks ago a website did a tri sli with 3 8800 ultras on a quad core 3.0G and they still couldn't get 60 FPS on ultra.

If I overclock my 8800GT 512MBs to the same speed I get nearly the same results. What a rip-off. Tri-SLi doesn't scale well and most folks don't have the money to buy 3 cards. It's a G92 chip even the revision is the same as the 8800GTS. If you've already got an 8800 series card it'd be worth waiting for the G1xx cards to come out.

Nvidia has officially unveiled the latest card in its new GeForce 9000 series - the 9800 GX2.
As the name suggests, it's a dual-GPU card in the same mould as AMD's HD 3870 X2 (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/159870/ati-radeon-hd-3870-x2.html), though unlike the AMD card it uses two physical printed circuit boards (PCBs), rather than two chips mounted on a single board.
Although the GX2 is the latest of Nvidia's "next generation" cards, it's based on the 65nm G92 core already seen in the 8800 GT. Internal speeds will be largely the same too, with a 600MHz core and a 1.5GHz shader clock. The memory clock has, however, been boosted to 2GHz, a step up from the 1.4GHz and 1.8GHz speeds available from the 8800 GT.


Where the GX2 comes into its own is parallel processing power: its 256 stream processors, divided between two GPUs, represent the highest shader count of any Nvidia card to date. This should let the GX2 deliver performance (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/179523/geforce-9800-gx2-nvidias-new-doubleheader.html#) far in excess of the 112-shader 8800 GT or the 64-shader 9600 GT.
It's also rumoured the GX2 will support quad-SLI, though we suspect that, as with the HD 3870 X2, this will really mean you're still limited to two physical cards.
