It is your mom and your mom wants you to be happy. For sure she protects you from buying stupid stuff. But have you ever tried to tell her exactly what it is about? Sometimes it is better to telling the truth and i am sure your mom will respect it. That is how i would deal those things with my family.

She only needs to know that it will make you happy. Every mom wants her children to be happy and even if she doesn't understand those computer things, i am sure that she will help you if she see you really want it.
