With BC2 a hack made for beta only works in beta, same thing to bf3 I guess.

It's not quite that simple. Offsets will have been changed (which is shit work to do) and integration with the anti-PB system will have to be done if not already done. Additional considerations will have to be made for release.

engine = collecting shit from the game and use that to draw the visuals
d3d = draw using directx

There are only about 19k peeps playing Bad Company 2 at the moment which is more than a year old (without the extension).
It's not about how old a game is, it's about fun...

Oh, that may be the case at first but they may get banned once or twice...then they ask themselves why they get banned.
So they find a way not to get get banned and spare some bucks for their hacks. Hacks aren't that expensive.

More than 75% of the people buying hacks aren't buying them to play on leagues. They just want to make sure (or as sure as possible) not to get caught by VAC, PB and the alike.
