hi

am planning to by cod:MW3 from steam, but am wondering if steam can detect x22 cheats, because i've never tried to use x22 in steam games.

Steam is not an anticheat, so it cant :P

As soulstar said, Steam is a Platform and not a anti cheat.
I think you mean VAC, and the x22 cheats are VAC Undetected.

I think it won't Be for ever, but for a long time.
I think Valve will do a VAC Update which will be very big and will make the cheat Coders a problem. Not today, not tomorrow ... but anytime. And then ... the Prevention Tool won't still work.

Then it will take 1 Week and x22 cheats will be UNDETECTED again :)

if the cheats get detected the prevention tools will make your game crash, so you don't need to worry about a ban ;)

it might work with some sort of checks but i doubt it would work for streamed execution code.
this is a great feature but dont think it is flawless, there is always a risk by cheating.
better not cheat at the 1st times of the game as the AC will be proactive.

But i still wonder, what would happen if they activated punkbuster on hl2 games? Would it work or not? An silent update so we dont know it, every gamer have punkbuster on their pc , still an big question we never will know!

Do you really think a Valve Game will ever get PB? :P

Btw, the game would need an update to run PB. Its not that easy to integrate it

Actually in the future so will valve get something like that, maybe not pb but an function like that, i promise, sooner or later will they see that their "elite vac" isnt the best anticheat, they maybe buy eslwac and edit somestuff ^^
