Just wanted to know with which programing language you started x22 and when :]

i started with Java, with what did you start and when? Directly c++?

Would be nice if you'd answer this, don't think that i am the only person who is interested in that :)

i posted this in another thread already. But i will repeat it :

I started in 2001 with the UnrealScript of UT99. This isn't a compiled language, it works through the unreal engine. Download UT99, read several docs about the UScript ( it's very well documented) and you can start making mods (or cheats).
Pros:
+ You will learn about a programming language similar to Java (When you understand a language, you'll understand them all).
+ You will learn about how a game engine works (Very important! All games engines work with the same bases).
+ Easy to use, you can force UT99 to load your cheat with 1 line in the game ini file.
Cons:
- It's only usefull for the Unreal engine games such as UT99 or UT2k4 (not UT3, there is no UScript compilator).

Once you are done with it (Post a screenshot :P) and you can start working on a dll, in c++.

The code between the .dll (c++) and your .u (unrealscript) is very similar. Only the language will change and you'll have to detour some functions (hooking). I think when you'll have made your first dll for ut99, you'll have done a big step.

Java is similar to C++ in the basics, so its ok to learn it, but you wont learn much about reverse engineering :P

This is how i started. I don't know if this is the best way, but it worked.
I guess you can also download Quake3 which is open source. Then it must be easy too (or HL2).

hm yes in java i won't be able to progg hacks or things like that.
I started with java 2 months ago (Ok i have experience with VB and delphi..:)), every day 8+ hours worked on reading information and progged a lot.
Now i'm already at working with JDBC databases etc. Think that i will start in half a year with c++ when it goes as good as now on with learing java. Understood that stuff objectorientated very fastly..

i use eclipse really like that one :]]

i hate delphi/lazerus ^.-

dear x22 some questions^^
how long does it take to write your first cheat/hack?
have you tested it on your own game/steam accounts?
and how many game accounts you lost until your hack was undetected?

would interest me:D^^

i still use the same steam account since the beggining. As i said i learnt with UT games, so the mistakes were made on UT. So far no problems at all with steam :)!

I would remember ^^ (;
