Graphics driver ALWAYS crashing when running games

So yeah, this is pretty annoying. I have an Asus nVidia GTX570 Direct CUII, and it's beginning to piss me right off. I cannot play any game without at least one failure of my graphics card driver. I have the latest driver (295.51 beta) after trying two different ones (using driver sweeper before installing any) to no avail. I have not overclocked my GPU, but I have given my CPU (intel Q6600) a 600mhz boost to 3.0 GHz. It still didnt work. I also updated my motherboards chipset drivers at the start of this month if it's any relevance at all. I also notice that when starting up any game, my GPU fan shoots right up to 100%, I haven't worked out why. Even when in a browser and simply writing a thread such as this, it has these occasional stutters that makes characters appear two seconds after I type them (I don't know how to explain it, that's the best I can do). And lastly, if i start bf3 straight after my pc has loaded and started up, (leaving it to do that for about 5 minutes), bf3 crashes instantly with a black screen and no error message from the game, apart from the nvidia control panel telling me the driver has crashed. However, when I start it again for a second time, it's absolutely fine. I even tried increasing the TDRDelay as advised by the nvidia site, which also didnt work.

GPU: Asus GTX 570 Direct CU II edition
OS: Windows 7 32bit
RAM: 3GB
Motherboard: Biostar G41U3G

Did it completely fix your problem though, or all-in-all did you need to buy a new HDD?

i formatted my Disk, installed new Windows and its OK

I've had this bug with my MSI gtx 560 TI Twin frozr II OC'ed to 1GHz for quite some time but it also happens without overclock just like you.
My GPU just keeps raising in fan speed until it crashes and after it has crashed once it works perfectly fine.
I've also formatted my HDDs and swapped out my HDDs while having this problem but it didn't solve it so I guess it's something else.

Check your S.M.A.R.T. values and run ckeck disk (if its really the HDD).

And run a GPU test, if the GPU is crashing at the test you should get a new GPU. ^^

S.M.A.R.T. -> HDTune

Chkdsk -> cmd.exe ( = chkdsk C: /F /R /X /B ... as example)

GPU Test -> furmark

After it, my pc would not turn on for 5 minutes, but I did finally get it turned back on. I am now running an error scan on my hard drive using HDTune, but what S.M.A.R.T values did you say I had to check?

I have tried default clocks, didnt work. I really dont think its my GPU, It's fairly new, only got it on christmas man. I hope its not a faulty card :/ Any other ideas guys?

maybe a power supply issue. In the moment you start the benchmark, the needed power increases a lot. if the power supply cant handle it, it turns off.

its a problem with the drivers above 280.xx for gtx 550 - 580 nVidia,

the newer drivers fucked up your card, you have to contact their support to get a new one,

i fixxed this problem with buying an OLDER grapfhics card, im running now a
geforce 8400 instead of my geforce gtx 550 ti,


i have in all games -100fps but my drivers dont crash anymore,


never update your nvidia drivers, this faggots are obviously to stupid for coding their own shit..

HDTune can read the S.M.A.R.T. values. Just click on Health (there it isn't called S.M.A.R.T.).

What is power supply?

Im sure my power supply is over 700w, but I do not know the provider. If its any trademark of who has made it, it has thick black braided cables for sturdiness.

Just because its over 700W doesnt mean that it also provides enough power for your GPU. Mabye it also had a defect. Would be nice if you could try another power supply somehow, maybe in a computer shop
