microsoft security essentials, my neighbor, hes pro at computers (seriously) he says its the best. i use kaspersky becouse for some reason mse wont start for me :/ i can give u a serial that gives you 200 days if u want. just pm me

I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, as does Torze and toastbrot if they were to post. It is lightweight, compact and uses the same definitions as those of the previous business class anti-virus. If you want more of a "hog" anti-virus get something else. For extra protection you should also be using noscript for firefox or something equivalent for whatever browser you use, and always keep malwarebytes handy in-case of anything. If you don't download cracked apps or anything typically illegal then you won't be running any potentially dangerous .exe files and won't need much security (or if you can reverse such apps).

Most of the antivirus are best but you can see which are giving you good service . I know that Avast , AVG , Avira is best antivirus . when i suffer from antivirus problem then i continue visit this site and collect my best choice and solve my problem

The trouble with free antivirus applications within the last 5-6 years (AVG, Avira, Avast, ...), is that they've all turned into bloated, naggy, pretty pieces of shit.

Microsofts security essentials is far from perfect, but it is also free and doesn't nag at you all the live long fucking day like the others do.

For an average, day-to-day user that needs antivirus with minimal fuss (& doesn't care about pretty green ticks everywhere saying "OMG YOU R PROTECTED, BUT BUY PRO AND YOU GET X FEATURE, Y FEATURE, AND Z FEATURE THAT YOU DON'T EVEN NEED"), I'd usually recommend MSE, as Deadfreak555 previously stated.

Personally? I use no anti-virus. I have a Windows gaming machine, used for nothing but games, and a virtual machine that I do development work on. Everything else is Unix or Linux, and I maintain tight controls on my network infrastructure, using defense in depth to lockdown my internet-exposed items, and the rest of the internal network.

I'm also the go-to guy for security where I work, so have seen, encountered, and cleaned most of the tricks in the book (thousands of non-technical users, many having admin rights, awesome Christmas Tree application!!1!11!!), so I know what the fuck I'm doing tyvm.

I scan my computer monthly with advanced anti virus/malware programs.
I also look trough what starts when my pc is booting and so on.
No need to have an anti virus if you aren't stupid.
