Can't you just ask your tattoo artist to make a mock up, it is what they do for a living.

just explain your idea (I'm assuming its supposed to be a line from a heartbeat monitor with the text going over it) and have him make a nice sketch.

Just make sure you go to a very good tattoo artist, because it doesn't matter if you have the coolest idea in the world and the best example of it with you, if the person can't draw it will look horrible!

So best way is for the guy/gal that is going to give you the tattoo to make a sketch, that way you have an idea if they can make it look the way you want it, because you can see how good they are at drawing things, never use your own drawings unless you know for 150% certainty that the person who's making the tattoo can make it look good or you will regret it.

And indeed it should be 'If you don't have ups and downs in your life that means you are dead' always make sure its correctly written it's something people notice and if its wrong they will laugh at you for it.

i have a few tattoos. I just presented my ideas and he turned them into something better than I imagined. You should do that too. Also... its dead, not death. Just making sure you dont have a typo on you forever.

What schnooby said indeed. Ask the tattoo artist to make it nice. Or try and use Adobe Illustrator to make it nice. And get that to your tattoo artist. But if you don't know how to use Illustrator I should just stick with plan A and ask the artist.
