my friend uses a tiamat, and his mic quality is aweful.. maybe just his settings, though..

and I have astro a50's, they are NOT worth the money. I'm going to return them next week. [I used them on my xbox.. and they were worse then my Tritons]

I did that before I decided to get a real 5.1 headset. I also compared a real 5.1 vs. a fake 7.1 ones sound and dolby surround quality and for me, the real 5.1 one is by far better.

And to repeat it once more: There is a point in having 5 speakers per ear in your headset. The human ear is able to spot those differences. Google it. ;D

No point to believe in a gimmick, real surround sound is meant with actual speakers and actual positioning around you, not directly on your ears.

P.S Remi what didn't you like about the A50's? If you say the mic issue, try updating the firmware, i've only heard good things about them.

There are different branches in IT, and depending where you work and who you work with you see a lot of things and gain a lot of knowledge most people don't count on. It's a thing called experience, which I'm sure isn't mentioned on Wikipedia when you search for IT.

Wether Apocaliptica knows what he is talking about or not I can only trust what you tell me. But a person that insults others based on what their opinion is on a subject, on a forum, which is a place we come to discuss, just makes their credibility go down to the same as the one of a spoiled child who doesn't have any clue what he is talking about and that only wants to sabotage people's discussions because of his pubertal needs.

But then again, if you say he knows what he is talking about, he probably just feels happy insulting people who he thinks know less than him.


But going back on-topic, imo for someone who clearly doesn't know much about components, the easiest way for him to go with is a headset with mic and all. Call it more "user-friendly".

Most of the headsets mentioned here are good and will fit your needs, it all just depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

G35 is actually a good quality headset, which is also very cheap, so saying it is stupid to buy it makes you look like angry nerd.

it also has a very simple configuration, just install the drivers which you get with it on a disc and that's it. within the programm you can set the soundquality and the g-keys and stuff.
also some posts before someone said that real 7.1 wouldn't be as good as the non-real, but i don't know if that's true.

like is aid, the sound quality is shitty, that has nothing to do with imaginary friends, its just a fact and just because you use the siberia v2 with an onboard 1€ soundcard doesnt mean that its worse than the g35
