View Full Version : Which graphics card?

Heyho!
It's x-mas today and I'll get some money :P So I decided to buy a new graphics card, because my sucks :x
But I'm not that briefed in hardware, so I want to ask you! Can you recommend a graphics card? The card should be able to run new games (I don't need the highest options, but some middle options would be cool :P) and the card should be as cheap as possible. Maybe you have some advice for me?

hd radeon 7950, 7970, 7870, 7990 or gtx 680
Not the cheapest, but very good quality!

GTX 680 Watercooling is awesome toy! Got a GTX 680 2 GB on Ebay about 178 $ from China and I added Watercooling to it! Its an awesome Grafix Card. It replaced my old GTX 285 1GB

I got a gtx 680, yes they are expensive BUT
You'll last a long time this card, it's nvidia so great driver support.
you'll get a max boost in fps and it will lengthen you pc's lifespan by a lot! (unless you are still running a duo core. Normally I would also suggest a card in a more budget friendly category but this card is soooo worth it.
Don't bother with ati's, just trust me on that.

ATI doesn't exist anymore but nevermind. Since AMD is working on their Graphics Cards the PCB has a pretty good quality and is stable enough to say AMD and Nvidia cards r on the same level, except those crap series like 76xx, 77xx.
But a GTX680 is totally overpriced imo. A good GTX670 OC is 7% slower.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/598?vs=555
There r always games that will run better on AMD or Nvidia cards.
I would personally go for a HD7970, many manufacturer like Gigabyte,Asus,Sapphire made there own version of it. The Gigabyte version has a good cooling system which is quiet and powerful at the same time. Even the price is quiet low, depends on where u live ofc.
This video shows a Sapphire HD7970 Ghz Edition running BF3 on maxed out.

@CrynogarTM (http://shop.x22cheats.com/member.php?u=87309): You said, you bought your card on ebay. Is this safe? I just want to know, because I also thought about buying hardware on ebay, but I don't want to get scammed, because it's a lot of money for me :p

Get a GTX 680 or if you can't afford one I'd suggest getting a GTX 660 TI.

Well, atm I have a graphics card by AMD and it's not that good. Okay it's an old card, but the drivers aren't really working though.
So I think, I'll buy a nVidia card ;).

i have the asus ati 7950 direct cu II and its awsome

and yes amd is good i run evrything on ultra in world of warcraft in fps games no lag at all but u need to have a good cpu to and ram but the most people that are nvidia fanboys would never say ati is good just test it and u wil see how beast the 7950 7970 are

Well i still prefer Nvidia as GPU, got better expierience with those things.
Got currently a GTX 680 and its super fast, so if you have enough money you should go for a GTX 680 if not go for a new GTX 650 Ti or GTX 660 Ti, your choice.

Good choice so far!
If you don't have the money yet for a gtx I'd rly suggest waiting untill you can afford one, You'll never regret it. and the dude saying it's overpriced ? just LOL yes it's expensive but so worth the quality and performance.
I can't imagine my pc without a gtx 680.

Okay, I think this card convinced myself. I'll wait a bit and count my money, when I've got all my presents. Beside the graphics card, I want to buy x22 lifetime, so I'll see in a few weeks, how much I got and how much I can pay :)
But thanks so far to you all :)

680, 670, 7990, 7970. All of these are the best choices. Pick whatever you can afford. Personally i hate AMD drivers (especially the way they do beta releases) so for my next GPU i would avoid them, but the hardware of AMD vs Nvidia are nearly equal. The hardware can only be as good as the software that supports it, so Nvidia wins in this case.

ye 680 is only 500 euro and the 690 is like 900 almost and i dont see any difference between the 680 and 690 its like the 7950 and 7970 you wont see any difference neither

So currently i have gtx 550ti i play my games on 1920*1080 always but with lowest settings to get some ok FPS at the highest resolution i wonder if i buy a gtx 680 or 690 and do the same will aimbot then be faster at all?
distiny
December 30th, 2012, 01:01 AM
yes, but the difference between the 680 and 690 isn't that big and certainly not worth almost double price

if you already got a lot of fps you won't notice much difference on the aimbot but if you are running 25-30 fps then yes.
but let me put it simpler, 2 guy's, both cheating with same settings, they have the same PC, are in the same room (same ping) but 1 guy has a 680 the other has a 275... 9/10 the dude with the 680 will win because the aimbot reacts on every frame -> more frames per second, more actions per second our cheat does.
Don't go thinking getting a great GPU will make you king of the cheaters, there a lot of variables in play.

Yah watercooled GTX680 with 1800Mhz or what? Seriously thats kinda unreal getting 150 FPS with Ultra and Single GTX680 that is propably not even running overclocked.
Well depends on which map u play.
When the HD7970 gets this FPS the GTX680 should get around 8% more FPS.

It's all about drivers. Nvidia has better drivers, always. The hardware can only be as good as the software that fuels it.
P.S High end GPU models = better driver support. Cheap end ones are just consumer based.

Ram Speed is just important for onboard graphics cards. Ur 2133 isn't better than 1600Mhz with a normal graphics card. Still don't know why people buy overpriced ram for no advantage but nvm :D
