If a new cheat comes out ?

Lets say that i buy xInstahook v3.0 for Counter-Strike Source and then soon xInstahook v4.0 comes out, now i know that i need to pay for the cheat again to get the new update, but will i still be able to use xInstahook v3.0 ? or do i got to upgrade if i want to use the cheat ?
