BF4 Release Date

So being in the UK I'm set for a release on the 1st of November. Does anyone know if buying a US or region free key, and changing my country of residence on Origin would be enough to fool it into allowing me to play it on the 29th or would I need use a VPN too? All my clan buddies get to play almost a week earlier than me... no fair. :(

I think it will unlock for all in the same time. Like it was with beta. When beta unlcoked it had diferent local times for each time zone which resulted in worldwide release in exactly the same time.
Consoles have diferent release date. But it will be the same for PC.

Well, just buy it with flyvpn in mexico. 28€ bf4, 22€ premium. Then Start Origin with VPN on, disable VPN and already play the game. I started playing yesterday.

I'm not buying this crap. It came out TODAY, and they're already selling 5 expansion packs for $10.00 bucks each. I refuse to pay for a game that I'm paying full price for the title, and $10.00 each for the game. It's like buying an iphone box for $600 bucks, then being told you have to buy the battery, screen, memory and cpu separately. VETO

Agreed. Dirty industry scheme to get more money in a short time, and label it DLC. I remember when Expansion was the correct way of doing things. Now you pay $50 for maps, when instead you got so much more for an expansion. Don't tell me these map artists are doing something spectacular either when the engine is the base of it all, and they move things around.

It's just a marketing thing. Like as you get some free TF2 hats if you prepurchase a game while the reviews are blocked until the release date. You can bind or force the customers to pay for a kind of membership this way you make sure that you got the money right now as some people wouldn't pay the last expansion packs after some time at all. On the other hand you cannot develop so many extension packs on a high quality level.

It sucks but it's nothing special, the gaming industry has changed over the years. And as you were talking about the goold old days... the reason why there were huge expansions and the devs have taken time for product testing was based on the fact that many people haven't got high speed connection. Now it's pretty easy to pull out patches everyday, fix your own mistakes three times in a row while selling items on a digital distribution service.

when bf3 premium edition was released i bought it and saved some $ but its stupid i agree
its the same thing they do with COD they release a new map that's similar to the old one oh well... not much we can do about it
