I had my main account "SamHyde" banned for allegedly posting a malicious external link to a hot fix for the League cheat.
I'd like to take this opportunity to appeal my ban.

When patch 8.12 initially hit for League of Legends, there was a hot fix that spread around the VIP section for a couple days that a lot of people said worked for them, so I started using it myself...and it worked for me too and my windows defender nor my anti virus detected anything malicious.

SO, I noticed other people were having the same problem using the cheat so I would link them the hot fix for League that actually does work, simply because I wanted to help them. In fact I have actually made friendships on this forum and now play in League of Legends with some of the people I've helped, all of us using this hot fix collectively and playing in parties, no problem at all.

Fast forward a couple days after that initial hot fix a couple weeks ago, my comments were removed and I received an infraction for posting external links. I immediately went to my other comments that had the external links that I knew hadn't been removed already by forum moderation and edited those comments to remove the links to prevent further infractions, I even went as far as to advise someone else who also commented with the hot fix external link to remove the link from his comment because all of us were receiving infractions for it.

Fast forward to a couple days ago when the new patch hit for League, people were of course posting new hot fixes and even x22 himself commented on one of the hot fix threads that were made and he seemed to have had no problem with it. Then 3 days passed of this hot fix being spread around on the forum and no one was being banned or receiving infractions for it, so I safely assumed that the forum staff and moderation were allowing us to help each other with hot fixes since it seemed no action was being taken and that the hot fix was actually working.

Then I log on today and I was banned for "posting malicious files and external links".

Tl;DR:
Hot fix works for everyone, I try to help people and give them the link, hot fix works for me, no one received infractions or bans after the 8.13 patch for posting hot fixes, I assume it's safe to help people with the hot fix. 100% unaware that what I am posting is allegedly malicious, I get banned for it.

I understand that the forum moderation saw something wrong, and they quickly banned anyone that they thought or knew were posting the hot fix links and I can appreciate good forum moderation to keep us safe. This is why I wanted to post a ban appeal to explain the case from my point of view and list out the steps I took to remove those links for my comments and point out why I actually used those links.

I hope this clearly explains my case and why I feel I should be unbanned.
I appreciate your time in reading this.

I guess you was banned than you repeatedly shared suspicious file even via PM which most likely has keylogger

The only person I shared the hot fix with via PM was someone who has asked for my help in the past and I helped him. I shared a link with him that came from my own League folder itself, the actual League of Legends.exe client.
If it were a keylogger or anything else malicious, it was never my intention for that to happen and I sincerely apologize for that. Why would I want to put a keylogger or something malicious in my own files?
What is suspected as something malicious as the current league client file that I use personally, and I've never had problems with that. I hope it's understandable now that from my point of view I seriously had no idea it was malicious because even I am able to use the file with no problems at all.
I seriously had NO idea that these files were malicious and still can't see how they are, but if forum moderation declares that they are malicious, then so be it I accept that statement and I will no longer share these files, ever.
I will never ever do anything to intentionally hurt someone on this forum or to get myself banned.

And as I mentioned, when you say I repeatedly shared files, I received an infraction for the first time it happened then I removed any links from other comments I had with the link in it.
I might have missed one or two, because their were several...but if you look through my posts you can see the effort to remove those links from my comments.

This isn't me trying to lie about anything, this is as truthful as it gets. I'm not trolling, or lying or trying to hurt someones computer on this forum.
There must exist some variation of words that can clearly explain my case and what had happened to convince the forum moderation my point of view.

WTF??

Rule One (1):

No obscene material, warez, pornographic material, keygens, unknown .exe's...

to check an .exe with your AV have no affect to see if there is something running in background.

you can bind original exe with an virus and crypt it then.
the result: no automated AV software can find the virus and the binding to the original exe in this case lol is running but what is running in background? nobody knows...

i wasnt able to temp ban someone so i infract everyone of you, its like an delayed temp ban now.

and why ban and not only warning? its a security problem not like "spammed arround the forum"

Be happy that you got unbanned. Next time its not a temporary ban.
