Hey All,
Yesterday my account password was changed at some point without getting an email notification to change it. So I ended up changing it back but couldnt log in again so I changed it one more time and downloaded a new client until I realized that it takes an hour for the xClient to sync with the forum I ended up being able to long in after a little while and played through the night. Today my password was changed again without any notification and when I attempted to change it back I ended up getting banned for account selling. Im not sure how I can move forward with an appeal. I've been a diamond member for almost 4+ years and would never think about selling my account.
Im not sure if this is related but about a week ago I had fiber installed in my house and my ISP was routed to Chicago, I know this because my VPN automatched to Chicago but then it ended up switching back to where I originally live a couple days ago.
I pm'd deadfreak in hopes that he can do a review on my account.
Cheers

There probably is some way they can verify you are the original account owner by asking for personal credentials like the last 4 digits on your debit card and your full legal name on the debit card.

Extremely strange ordeal, I'm not sure how my password was changed without any email notifications, I even checked my approved devices in my gmail and nothing out of the ordinary.

xClient is bound with your PC.. doesn't matter your IP

So I'm not sure how I ended up getting banned? I haven't changed anything on my computer except a fresh windows install about two weeks ago.

I think i saw a post last night from a diamond member just posting his x22 and steam credentials, can't find it tho and i can't remember the username, i think the topic got deleted and maybe that was your account and could explain why it got banned, if that's the case maybe your pc is infected or someone managed to guess/crack your credentials and found it funny to post them here.

Thats strange because I yesterday evening I got a request to remove my steam guard and change my password. Around the same time my password was probably changed.

I believe the false ban was due to a simple fact pattern that 4 weeks ago I requested an HWID reset because I built a new computer nd then 1 weeks ago I requested an HWID reset because I did a legit install of windows because my cracked one was buggin out. I can provide receipts of the windows key purchase if need be.

Yeah! No response yet but high hopes. Hopefully there is an appeal process. Could it have been the League of Legends hotfix those guys posted in the support thread? Thats the only thing out of whack that I downloaded within the past 4 weeks
Edit.: I just reinstalled windows

better u format ur hole pc and comming back in here. seems like ur pc got malware on it.

Jesus christ, yeah that was my account, I must have picked up malware somewhere. Did those league hotfixes ever get scanned? I just finished reinstalling windows again and malwarebytes as well. Going to keep a strict eye on downloaded programs. I couldnt reply to your PM so I replied here.

this is the reason why nobody should up-/download "non approved files" from here
its not clear if this fix was the trigger, maybe u visit a spreading website with a script in background to get this but after format ur hole drive you should be fine for now

I switch so often my location via VPN and did not get any ban / warnings. I think you acted very suspicious ..

so, I banned "tuxified"
seems like you got a keylogger or something else.
you created a thread with some Accounts , even your own x22 account.
that's why you got perm. ban.
Deadfreak should think about it, and probably he unban you

You are responsible for your account and it's security. I wouldn't lift the ban.

That's a little steep, but I understand where you're coming from. Although this is the first for me, the entirety of my computer got infected at once and it compromised everything. I believed myself not to be careless but I guess that wasn't enough.

If you get infected, you are careless. No matter what.

Thats fair, I should have taken more precautions. I’ll probably end up getting MalBytes premium as well as other monitoring software.

I recommend to you, dont trust on AV programms a newly created virus or fresh updated (crypted) virus is clean for any AV software.
Use:
- NoScript for webbrowsers
- Virustotal.com & google for files (hashes)
- and brain.exe (to avoid clicking on "download your free ipad.exe here" pictures)
- herdprotect [if its re-released agan]
